Game On! Sports Camp 4 Girls is looking for high school and college athletes, coaches and teachers who share our passion for sports, fitness, kids and fun to join our staff team.

Director

Game On! Sports Camp 4 girls is a multi-week private summer day camp dedicated to creating an exceptional sports camp experience for girls nationwide. Game On’s Mission is to work with girls to develop or enhance their appreciation and appetite for sports & fitness. We recognize that even the slightest bit of progress means confidence and empowerment for our campers. The Camp Director responsibility is to execute that Mission every day at camp. The Camp Director establishes the personality and energy of camp and is responsible for:

  • Securing and Maintaining a safe and fun CAMP environment;
  • Being the ultimate Role model for Staff and Campers;
  • Daily Camp Energy;
  • Organizing and Executing Daily camp schedule including morning team stations and afternoon optionals;
  • Organizing and executing special camp events and theme week activities;
  • Coordinating and managing camp field trips;
  • Scheduling, coordinating and executing guest clinics: bringing in as many volunteer collegiate and pro women athletes and coaches and other VIAs/VICs (Very important athletes and/or coaches);
  • Managing and motivating camp staff;
  • Interacting with Campers;
  • Coordinating equipment needs and maintaining equipment;
  • Maintaining good relations with facility host;
  • Taking quality care of facility property;
  • Attending and aiding in the supervision of Game On! events during the school year to the extent possible;

Requirements for job of Camp Director:

  • Strong Athletic background a plus;
  • Current involvement in sports and fitness;
  • Experience in Coaching or Instructing kids in Sports;
  • Self Motivated;
  • Love of Sports and Kids;
  • Passionate about the chance to empower young girls and hook them for life when it comes to participation in sports and fitness;
  • Energy comparable to the Eveready Bunny;
  • Warm and Dynamic Personality including sense of humor;
  • Strong leadership capabilities balanced by the ability to be a team player;
  • Networked in community a plus;
  • Supreme patience;
  • Strong Management skills;
  • Great communication skills;

Assistant Directors

Game On! Assistant Directors will report to the Camp Director and aid with all Director responsibilities. Assistant Directors may also take on the role of a Station Head when appropriate.

The Assistant Camp Directors will contribute to the personality and energy of camp and is responsible for independently or helping the Director to:

  • Secure and Maintain a safe and fun CAMP environment;
  • Act as Role model for Staff and Campers;
  • Create that Daily Camp Energy;
  • Organize and Execute Daily camp schedule including morning team stations and afternoon optionals;
  • Organize and execute special camp events and theme week activities;

Sports Director

Game On! hires Sports Station Heads in Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Softball, Lacrosse, Swimming and Tennis. A Station Head will create and execute a program, day by day/week by week, designed to help girls, grades pre-K through 8th, to learn the fundamentals and grow as an athlete in the specific sport. With a focus on fun and the joy of sport, the Station Head will supervise our coaches (counselors) as their campers rotate through the sport, also making an effort to provide hands-on help with the campers. The Station Head will also be expected to accompany the campers on field trips and help with other camp responsibilities.

In essence, our sports directors are charged with passing on their passion – creating an environment where our campers simply can’t get enough of their sport.

Station Head Requirements:

  • Experience coaching or teaching kids in the particular sport;
  • Competitive, higher level, experience as a player in the sport;
  • Great references;
  • A passion for instilling a love for the sport in kids;
  • Energetic and Spirited;
  • Responsible and Organized;
  • Good communicator;
  • Team player – willing to work and blend with the Game On! program and staff;
  • An appreciation for the benefits of sports in the lives of young children

On a weekly basis, the Station Head will submit a plan, organized into mornings and afternoons, that will detail the skill or skills of the week, the contests that incorporate development of those skills, and optional activities including wacky games and/or recreational, and/or advanced skill development or play. He or she will also submit the “challenge” for the upcoming Challenge Course Friday.

As a side note, the station head may be called upon to plan an appropriate activity that corresponds with Olympic Week, Color War Week, Goofy Olympics or other such special events. Station Heads also lead teams created for these special events.


Coach (Counselor)

Game On! Sports Camp 4 Girls, a unique summer day camp dedicated to creating an exceptional sports camp experience for girls grades pre-K through 8th, is looking for Coaches. With a focus on the joy of sport through fun, Coaches will supervise a group of approximately 8 to 12 girls as they rotate through various sports stations and other fun activities, attend field trips, and fulfill other assigned responsibilities.

Characteristics we look for in a coach:

  • Participation on varsity sports team(s);

 Coach in Trainig (CIT)

The Game On! Coach in Training Program welcomes girls and guys entering their freshman and sophomore years in high school who are looking for special training that involves working with and impacting young girls through sports.

CIT PROGRAM BENEFITS:

  • Train with experienced role models whose passion for passing on a love for sports and fitness is contagious;
  • Learn by doing – you will have significant (supervised) responsibilities that can potentially involve administrative tasks, program administration, creative projects and coaching/instructing campers;
  • Play and teach sports day in and day out;
  • Experience your own growth as an athlete and a person;
  • Flexible multi-week options;
  • Pay ½ of camper tuition;

WHO SHOULD APPLY:

Communications Director (Internships Offered)

Communications/Photo Director to manage video, photography, daily communications and newsletter responsibilities. Must have solid writing skills and experience with digital photography. Ability to upload daily photos and video to website, Youtube, etc. is a plus.


Groundskeeper (May be combined with other positions)

Involves the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of the campgrounds (including both indoor and outdoor spaces as well as equipment) for the entire camp season. May include off site campgrounds as well.


Setup / Clean-up Crew

Opportunity for hired staff to be involved in extra (paid) duty as it pertains to the daily setup and clean-up of fields and courts and clean-up at the completion of the 8 weeks.


Utility Position

Flexible full-time staff position to assume responsibilities as needed. Responsibilities will vary and may include driving a camp van (must be 25 years or older), bus duty, fieldtrip supervision, substitute Coach, lunchroom duty, maintenance of campgrounds, canteen maintenance and equipment, supply and food management.


Director of Camp Administration

Older teens and adults who enjoy using their exceptional organizational skills to come on-site in an administrative role (i.e. maintaining data base, day to day admin, answering phones, organizing bus routes).
